Automated Product Name Generation
Most product names are a combination of words used in their attributes. E.g. Blue Long sleeve Wyse T-Shirt is a combination of Color, Style, Brand and Product type attribute.
mVentory uses the default value of formatting attributes, consisting of a list of attribute codes with any other words or punctuation, to automatically generate consistent product names.
In Android app
When a user enters the product details of a new product, product attributes are entered first. The product name is then pre-built, based on the template stored in the default value of a formatting attribute. The name can be edited before saving to change it to any custom string if the generated name is not satisfactory.
In Magento back-end
mVentory API extension adds a new bulk action Rebuild product name to Manage Products page for rebuilding the names of selected products.

In this case a product name will be built from attributes:
which are all present in the same attribute set
and result in a name similar to this one
- mv_modelnum_ weld_type_, weld_brand_ <- if weld_brand_ value is blank or n/a the trailing punctuation will be dropped.
- weld_brand_ mv_modelnum_ weld_type_ Welder <- word Welder doesn’t match any attribute codes from the attribute set then it will just appear in the name.
