Automated TradeMe Title Optimisation
I explained in another post the role listing titles play in TradeMe search. Basically, a well optimised title can double the number of views on the listing. Think how many more sales you can get from that little number.
Product names on an e-commerce website are optimised for Google and user experience. They are contextual to the area of the website. It works fine there.
A product title like “KZOAO Allure Freestanding Stone Bath * 1500L x 750W x 580Hmm” is informative and easy to understand, but it won’t perform well in TradeMe search. Unless you sell a high affinity brand like Nike it is counter productive to start your TradeMe listing title with the brand name.
Try renaming “KZOAO Allure Freestanding Stone Bath * 1500L x 750W x 580Hmm” to “Freestanding bath 1500mm Stone”
Listing title optimisation
Our TradeMe extension can optimize the titles on the fly for one or more variants.
For example, if the product title on your website is “KZOAO Allure Freestanding Stone Bath * 1500L x 750W x 580Hmm”
the TradeMe listing variations could be:
- Freestanding Stone Bath * 1500L x 750W x 580Hmm
- Bath Freestanding 1500L
- Freestanding Bath * 1500L x 750W x 580Hmm
These listings can be on TradeMe at the same time or use sequentially – as one expires another one is listed with a different name. This may sound counter-intuitive to list the same product more than once, but it works and helps to drive more sales.
TradeMe views calculator
We created a simple Google Spreadsheet to demonstrate the value in adding additional name variations.
You can copy it from our e-commerce calculators folder to play with the numbers yourself.
